The Glendon Society for Undergraduate Scholarship was established in March 2010 by students of Glendon University College.
We will operate as a facilitator for Glendon students to have their papers published in undergraduate academic journals. Faculty members may identify high calibre papers and direct them to us, or students may approach The Society independently. We will match papers with the appropriate disciplined journals and work with the students to edit their papers into manuscripts according to the guidelines of each journal.
Through cooperation with faculty members, the college administration and The Society, we aspire to highlight and enhance the calibre of academics at Glendon. Published works of undergraduate students in recognised, refereed journals will help students achieve further goals in academia and in career paths. Graduate studies are becoming an increasingly competitive field as the base of undergraduate students grows. It is not uncommon for graduate school applications to allocate space for “Published Works”. Helping Glendon students accentuate their academic success through publications in peer-reviewed journals will enhance their opportunities for graduate work, attract bright and ambitious new students and proliferate and enrich the reputation of Glendon as a place of academic success and achievement. Furthermore, involvement of undergraduate students in the production of original knowledge and research will further engage students with their professors and research, providing opportunities for experiential education.
We encourage all students and faculty to contact us for further information and publishing opportunities.
Status: We are currently in the process of applying for Club Status at Glendon.
